Career History
I set up my first website in 1998, graduated from the University of Manchester in 2006 with a BA in Language, Literacy and Communication, and spent the next five years writing SEO content for a major London-based online news agency.
Since the summer of 2011 I have been a freelance writer. I write commissioned blog posts, news updates, press releases and other online marketing content, usually with elements of SEO included for better search result rankings.
I also work in other formats, from short-form copy to newspaper advertorials, and for print publications ranging from industry magazines to company catalogues and brochures.

Life Story
My passion for writing has lasted my entire life. When I was a baby, my parents found me looking at a book - but I wasn't looking at the pictures, I was reading the words.
As a toddler they would prop me up at the keyboard of our ZX Spectrum and I learned to type before I could write by hand.
Baby Bobble would have been very happy to know that as an adult, he would be able to do that as his full-time job, and I still get a sense of childlike enthusiasm and achievement from a great client brief and a job well done.
Why Words Matter
The internet has changed a lot since 1998 but one thing that never changes is the value of great content - especially written content - to engage with your human audience while also improving your search result rankings.
I've been doing this since Google launched and nearly a decade before the first iPhone launched. I've seen SEO and mobile search become the dominant forces in website design and content marketing.
I've written literally millions of words of online content and I expect to write many millions more. Let me write some for you.
